The magic of cinema

We can all agree that watching a good film is free therapy. The seventh art and one the latest to appear. It's magical how personal and close we can feel with a movie character even if his story it's completely out of our reality.

All arts are connected , and personally my favourite combination is the cinema and music. I have a clear example of it. There is a tv show french  “ Call my agent” that is awesome and at the end of each episode they put a nostalgic and sublime melody. And it goes so well, the mix of this one with the Paris shots . I just can't explain with words what I feel when I see this. The melody is a cover from the song “Vertigo Valley” by French79 and you can find it on youtube by just typing “ Dix pour cent musique de fin”.

Cinema is the addition of tiny details that turn on a masterpiece ( well it depends of course on the movie). Cinema is capable of putting us in a kind of meditation state, we forget about our problems and our daily life when we are watching a movie . Movies make us dream, cry, and laugh. But why? Because everyday things look more “poetical” through screens, because we are witnessing the beauty of life. The beauty of the quotidian things, the beauty of the simplicity of life. That a lot of times goes unnoticed to us.

Cinema like storytelling was born from the needof communication.  In fact some linguists agree the genesis of language is due to the need to tell stories. The need of creating memories, the need of being remembered and the need of finding a meaning to life.

The art of cinema is inefable, it's very subtle but through these tiny messages it denounces social or political problems, personal beliefs, fears and dreams. For that reason I love seeing movies from all around the world because you discover a whole different culture. From the dressing to the gestures, each country is unique. Thanks to cinema we can travel without moving from our couch. Thanks to cinema we can daydream and let our imagination flow.

I wanted to be more personal in this post, show you my opinion and vision about cinema and life overall. That's why I want to share with you some of my favorite movies.
